I can't trust psychotherapy because at its best, it palliates our anxieties by distracting us with new conundrums which themselves become points of obsession.

And, at its worst, it lulls us into deeper disguises of truth so seductively presented in reductionist glibness that we re-affirm life-killing beliefs in predictability and mediocrity.
