Only other saw player besides me that I ever met. The really strange thing is, my wife used to live with this guy; she's got a thing for saw players... Used to play music with this yayhoo & we've been on some adventures together which I will NEVER speak of. Met this guy for the first time in 1967 during a gig where his act preceded mine. I thought he was the most unique singer I've ever encountered. Good philosophizing buddy to this day... Tony & I knew each other before we were 6 years old, although his younger sister was the one I mostly played with. Helped him frame up his Horseshoe Bend Canyon home, now owned by writer/historian Dan Flores. My earliest memory of Joey is in 1969 when he played protest songs on the steps of the campus library when we had a peace demonstration at Texas Tech University. A truly great artist and great friend.
